What Publishers is
Publishers is a monthly magazine about the business of books in Spanish: publishers, bookshops, distribution, fairs, rights, prizes and reading, in Spain and in Latin America. Each issue has a cover interview and further interviews, a main feature, trade news, profiles of publishing houses and reviews of new books.
It was founded in 2020 as Publishers Weekly en Español, the Spanish-language edition of the American magazine Publishers Weekly, created together with the Seville-based company Lantia. The first issue came out in September 2020 and was distributed in Spain and through the El Sótano bookshops in Mexico. Today it is called Publishers.

Publishnews, the daily news
Publishnews began publishing in October 2018 as a newsletter and website covering the Spanish-language book trade. It was founded by Carlo Carrenho and Antonio Martín, with Lorenzo Herrero in the newsroom. In 2023 it joined Lantia Publishing, the publisher of Publishers, and since then the two titles have worked together: Publishnews reports what happens every day; Publishers takes a closer look every month.
On this site, News carries the Publishnews stories. The magazine's pieces — interviews, opinion and reviews — have their own sections, and the year's book fairs have their own calendar.
What we cover
The Spanish-language book world on both sides of the Atlantic: what large and small publishers, bookshops, distributors, libraries, agents, translators and illustrators are doing; the trade fairs, from Frankfurt to Guadalajara, Bogotá and Buenos Aires; prizes, market data, self-publishing, audiobooks and digital.
We write for people who work in books. Publishers and Publishnews belong to Lantia Publishing, a group that also publishes books under its own imprints; our editorial policy explains how we keep our reporting separate from the group's interests and from advertising.

- The website. Daily news, interviews, opinion, reviews and the fair calendar, free to read.
- The newsletters. The Publishnews daily, every morning, and the Publishers weekly, in Spanish and in English. They are free; you can sign up at the foot of any page.
The English edition
Readers who choose English in the header see the site in English: menus, sections, headlines and standfirsts. Headlines and standfirsts are translated from Spanish with a machine translation system and checked by the editors; the full text of articles is published in Spanish only. Our editorial policy explains how.
